With a view to the upcoming selection of EU Consolidated Tape Providers (CTP) starting in Q1 2025, we will take a look at the new technical standards drafted under MiFIR.
The 19th International Financial Standards Conference 2025 will focus on how new technologies, evolving regulation, and more recently also massive political paradigm shifts are affecting the development of global financial standards such as ISIN, FISN, CFI, LEI, UPI and DTI.

The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) is a global member association, comprised of more than 120 National Numbering Agencies (NNAs), who are Stock Exchanges, CSDs, Central Banks, Data Vendors and Regulatory Bodies. NNAs allocate International Securities Identification Numbers (ISIN – ISO 6166), Classification of Financial Instruments (CFI – IS0 10962) and Financial Instrument Short Name (FISN – ISO 18774) for more than 200 jurisdictions. Additionally, the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), an ANNA subsidiary, assigns Unique Product Identifiers (UPI – ISO 4914) to uniquely identify the product involved in an OTC derivatives transaction. Thus, ANNA and its members are active contributors to the development, adoption, promotion and implementation of the global ISO (International Organization for Standardization) financial standards.
ANNA is also the Registration Authority for the ISIN, and the FISN as well as a strong supporter of other ISO financial standards, most notably the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI – ISO 17442) and the Digital Token Identifier (DTI – ISO 24165) which are included in the ISIN record.
As a service provider to the financial industry, WM Datenservice has been supplying data solutions, integrated data and information along the entire process chain of its customers for over 70 years. The company also assigns the German Securities Identification Number (WKN), the International Security Identification Number (ISIN) of German issuers, the CFI (Classification of Financial Instruments – ISO 10962), the FISN (Financial Instrument Short Name – ISO 18774) for all types of financial instruments and, since 2013, the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI).
Finance Yard ist eine Finanz-Community und möchte Akteure im Finanzbereich besser vernetzen. Durch diese Aktivitäten soll Neueinsteigern im beruflichen Umfeld, aber vor allem auch interessierten Professionals mit Vorwissen erklärt werden, warum und wie neue Technologien – etwa Blockchains – im Finanzwesen eingesetzt werden können, insbesondere im Hinblick auf Compliance und Regulatorik.
Finance Yard hat lokale Chapter in Frankfurt und München. Das Chapter in Berlin wird im 4. Quartal 2024 initiiert. Ab 2025 werden dann Events und Workshops in Frankfurt, München und Berlin angeboten, die neue Technologien im Finanzbereich zum Inhalt haben werden.

Finance Yard is a finance community and aims to better connect players in the financial sector. These activities are intended to explain to newcomers and established professionals with prior knowledge, why and how new technologies – such as blockchains – can be used in finance, especially with regard to compliance and regulation.
Finance Yard has local chapters in Frankfurt and Munich. The chapter in Berlin will be initiated in the fourth quarter of 2024. From 2025, events and workshops will be offered in Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin, which will focus on new technologies in the financial sector.
